General FAQ's
What should I send?
We accept photographic negatives, original photo prints and digital images [saved to CD]. Posted CD's and artwork should be sent in a bubble pack or hardback envelope with an accompanying hard copy print of the selected image. You can also send your image via email (as a guide your file size should be between 3Mb and 10Mb and saved as a .jpg).
Do you accept images from digital cameras?
Yes, please ensure that your digital camera is set to its maximum size setting to avoid blurred and pixelated enlargements. You can send your digital image via email or burn your image onto a CD and send it in the post with a hard copy of your chosen image. Our designers will contact you if they are concerned that your image is too small to be enlarged accurately.
Will you let me know if you don't think my image is good enough to be blown up to the size I have asked for?
Yes, we would never print out an image that wouldn't look right, we would contact you immediately with your options for the best possible results.
When will I receive my order?
We aim to dispatch all orders within 1 - 4 working days from receipt of your order and payment.
Do you return original images?
Yes, all original imagery sent to Cactus Canvas will be returned, however we cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged in transit and recommend copies be made prior to sending. Your original image will be returned with your order.
Can you manipulate images?
Yes, we can change colour images into black and white, manipulate colours, brighten, improve contrast. There will be an element of image manipulation determined by our designers to achieve the best results, based on our experience. All final prints are determined by the quality of the original. We endeavour to produce the best quality print from your artwork and cannot be held liable for any blemishes from the original image.
Do I need to own the image I send?
In submitting an order for customised canvases the customer confirms that they own the intellectual property rights to the respective photograph / artwork or have obtained the relevant written permission. We reserve the right to refuse to print or manufacture any image that may cause offence.
Canvas FAQ's
How do I clean my canvas prints.
When cleaning use a soft dry cloth only.
What frames do you use?
We use only REAL wood frames from managed, sustained forests. Our frames have an angled profile to ensure that only the minimum amount of canvas is in contact with the frame.
How do you protect your canvases?
All our canvases are laminated to protect against dust, scratches and water. Before delivery, our canvases are carefully bubble wrapped.
Will my canvas fade?
All our canvases are printed using colourfast U.V resistant inks.
How should I hang my canvas?
All our canvases are 'ready to hang'. We recommend hanging canvases from a suitable wall using either picture hanging pins or a screw and plug combination. Take care to avoid electrical wires, pipes and other services behind your wall when fixing. We cannot be held responsible for any damage resulting from a poorly secured canvas or an unsuitable choice of hanging location.
